Aug 27, 2015 - Cultus Lake Provincial Park BC – Maple Bay Campground
Drove the Coquihalla Highway today from the beginning to the end. If any of you watch “Highway thru Hell” on the Weather Channel, you’ll know it better as “the Coq”. For those who don’t know, the show is about a group of tow truck operators who spend their winters clearing wrecks, towing stuck vehicles, etc. on one of western Canada’s busiest highways. We wanted to see what the highway was really like, although in the summer, it was a pretty easy drive. I wouldn’t want to do it in the winter, though.Jump to full entry
Aug 1, 2011 - Staying at Cultus Lake a few more days...
We're not in a place to add photos - but we're having an incredibly relaxing time at Cultus Lake Provincial Park BC. We've decided to just stay here another few days (leave Thurs. AM) and to take a day trip into Vancouver tomorrow - mostly to go to the Aquarium there... Also to walk through their big park (a nice chance to include the dogs). We've been walking the trails in this Provincial Park everyday - down to the "dog beach" and up to a giant fir tree... All four of us are happy with that. Jul 20, 2011 - We give up! We are pooped!
We gave up trying to get back to the USA...exit to Thousand Trails campground, Lake Cultus, B.C., Canada for a rest-we need the time to rest up. This campground in the system turned out to be a pleasant surprise...clean, grassy, lots of flowers in bloom and rain. Ah, Yes! the rain - we had to look at each other and say another day without sunshine, but it is NOT hot. We head to Blaine, Washington, United States of America tomorrow. I kissed the ground when I crossed the border into California when I got away from Georgia and that big...Jump to full entry
