Sep 19, 2012 - Red Fish Lake

The mother grizzly walked by the camper this morning at 6:47 AM, right on time.  We watcher during the morning feed on salmon, play in the water with her cubs and explore the shore line.  She returned on the shoreline by the camper at 11:10 and headed down the shoreline and out of sight. There were several other bears visible but at much greater distances.  We packed up camp and headed to Williams Lake where we will spend the night before heading to Whistler and some WWS.  This will be our last day of wilderness tell we get back to...

Sep 18, 2012 - Red Fish Lake

What a day!  Started with seeing a cub walking the shore of the lake just a few yards from the camper as I was dressing. We got out side and got the camera and chair set up just in time to watch the parade of bears.  We had one sow with three cuba come through camp three times.  the second time they put us in the truck where we watched the cubs play with my tripod knocking it over and testing the strength of its legs.  One cub took a liking to my hat that i had left on the beach along with my bear spray.  the cubs had a great time playing...

Sep 17, 2012 - Red Fish Lake

This morning we left Bella Coola with out stopping at the bear watching platform.  Our goal was to climb the freedom hill and head out on the Chilkot plateau.  the hill is a 3500 foot gain in elevation done in 8.5 miles. The troublesome service engine light did not come on, if i did have a transmission issue the Hill should have tested the issue.  we traveled to tatole Lake and headed south to xxxx Lake. a spot that had been recommend to us by a number of people.  the recommendation was a good one with in four hours of arriving we saw a sow...
