May 25, 2011 - Alaska Highway

Our morning drive lead us through the pine forests of British Columbia. The first stop today was Chetwynd and we enjoyed the collection of chain saw wood carvings on display down the main street and in front of the visitor’s center. At Dawson Creek, we explored the visitor’s center and the downtown area with the obligatory photo op at Milepost 0 of the Alaska Highway. We transitioned from the Canadian Rockies to the rolling agricultural land of northern British Columbia and ended our day just north of Fort St. John. The campsite for tonight...
