Arrived July 6th, staying 2 days. After leaving Hope we basically had the canyon highway to ourselves. Weird that we didn't encounter any July summer traffic. One of the nicest canyon drives we have ever had. We like coming to Ashcroft. It's a nice small town to kick back and explore the surrounding areas. Always stay at the Municipal RV park on the Thompson river. Bonus is the local pub/restaurant a stones throw away. We have train tracks on both sides of us, one set of tracks about 200ft away but the trains just scoot thru, not much...

Aug 16, 2008 - To Ashcroft

Saturday, August 16 405 miles from 65 miles past Chetwynd to Ashcroft Temperature rose to a very HOT 94 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- We set a new record today!! We drove 405 miles. Could be a case of barn fever or that this part of British Columbia, as spectacular as it is, doesn’t match up to the Kenai Penn. and we have, on the way up, seen it before. Most of all, we did the math and find we have to move out smartly if we hope to get back to DC when we need to and still visit the things...
