How to sum up an entire country? While traveling I am constantly running into people that have already been to where I am headed next, and everyone is always happy to give you their opinion of the place. I try to not have it affect my perspective, but subconsciously, I am sure it does. As it was for Vietnam, no one I have met has been overly affectionate, or even that affectionate, about their time there and I think I walked away with a similar feeling. Jun 8, 2007 - Sunset Don Det!

Hello All, After one to many painful bites (for Jode) J & J have returned to Thailand for a little R & R! Since our last entry (I know its been a long time but we haven't had many chances to log on and when we did it was very expensive) we left Don Kong and travelled down to the marvellous yet difficult island of Don Det (accompanied by our new travelling buddy Job (pron Yob) from Holland who does the best Borat impression I've ever heard). Jun 4, 2007 - 4,000 Islands and not one beach!

Hello All, Since our last entry we have visited the amazing Buddha Park in Vientaine, traveled 11 hours by bus to Champasak (home of world heritage ruins) and caught the local 'bus' to Don Kongh (in Laos' 4000 islands)... Wowee that's a lot of travel in a a short period of time! Starting at the Buddha Park. Jodie and I arranged for a 1 hour tuk-tuk ride to take us out of the city (past the border bridge to Thailand) and into the country for a visit to one of the most amazing sights so far! The park consists of about 30 huge statues...
