Mar 14, 2017 - Canberra to Wodonga

We were just about blown down the Hume highway today. We has a good strong tail wind, so made good time as well as having good fuel consumption. We stopped for an early lunch at the Dog on the Tucker box statue just outside Gundagai. Our girls were very good sitting beside the statue to have their photo taken. We had planned to stop overnight at a spot by the Hume highway, but if there was a turnoff for it- we missed it and ended up in Wodonga about 3pm. Plan B was to camp overnight at Wodonga show grounds, but when we got there, we found...

Mar 27, 2015 - Wallendbeen - Gundagai - Wodonga - Mullengandra

What a day. We left Wallendbeen and headed via Cootamundra to Gundagai and the Dog on the Tuckerbox. As per photo's it was worth the experience. Whilst filling up with water in Gundagai the temp repair to the water tank overflow elbow showed that it was still leaking so Susie looked up our nearest Avida dealership. 2 hrs later we made it over the Murray river across the border into Wodonga Victoria. Susie had managed to sweet talk us in for an emergency repair. They eventually found a replacement elbow and fitted it thankfully being 3.30pm...

Jan 11, 2015 - Off the Ferry and into Ned Kelly country

Out of bed at 4:45 to be in the motorhome ready to embark at 5:30. The ride over on the ferry was gentle and made for a restful sleep. Finally got off the ferry at 6:00 am and then out of Melbourne via the freeways. Pleasant time of the day - not a lot of traffic for Melbourne but more than you would expect. We stopped off for breakfast about an hour south of Glenrowan on the Hume Highway. Then drove on to Glenrowan to have a quick look at the Big Ned Kelly. Arrived at 9:30 and left at 1:30! Had some family photos taken dressed up as Ned...

Apr 28, 2014 - Left Jindabyne for Albury Wodonga

Monday 28th April Woke this morning to a very heavy fog. This concerned me even more than I already was. (I didn't sleep that well last night a bit worried about the trip through the Snowy"s) When I saw the fog I started looking for another way over/through the snowy mountains. There is no easy way through. I went and spoke to the ladies at the Information Centre, they assured me that the fog was lifting in the mountains (actually showed me the shots from the cameras at Thredbo). So I decided that we would still go over the Alpine Highway....

Mar 17, 2013 - Catching up

After our free camp at McD's carpark we headed to Faith city church for the morning service. Shirley, who we haven't seen for about 10 or twelve years came up and what a great re-union. She doesn't look any different. It was a good service and and we enjoyed it. A visiting minister was the speaker and his message was as follows: The safest place is the centre of God's will. We cannot be someone we are not. We need to be obedient to God's will. Joshua 6:13. Jericho. Joshua heard the word of The Lord and did it. They had absolute faith...

Mar 16, 2013 - Albury/Wodonga

We stayed overnight just past Yass in a rest area. Blaze Aid was nearby. Its a volunteer group that fixes fences and the like for farmers affected by bush fires. After arriving in Wodonga we went to see Doreen and Dennis who live nearby. We had a great HG conversation and Dennis told us about his journey. We had a very nice time with them and the visit which we thought would be about an hour was about three hours. Catching up with friends even after a long time is a great thing. We went over to the caravan park but couldn't fit onto the...
