May 11, 2017 - Shepparton - A Mooving Experience

In 1999, Shepparton’s CBD marketing committee Shepparton Show Me introduced Moooving Arts predecessor – the Merry Moos, for a Christmas campaign. The Merry Moos were so successful it was decided to expand the concept and Moooving Art was born! Shepparton cows are now known far and wide for their whimsical and ever-changing personalities! Moooving Art pays homage to the strength of the dairy industry in Greater Shepparton. Oct 19, 2016 - Around Shepp

19th October – Tatura…. As the sun was shining this morning we did the washing and then went out to look at a few things recommended. First was a Strawberry farm that had no strawberries but it did have Low GI Jam and Cider. I procured some samples at considerable expense. Then it was off cross country to an Organic Apricot tourist trap and when we got there it was closed… Anyway it was a nice drive through the orchards of Ardmona. Next stop was the Tatura Bakery which has won awards for vanilla slices, bread and fruit mince pies. If you...

Oct 18, 2016 - Shepparton

17 th October – Coolamon to Shepparton…. Well what a day, just over 300km took us 6 ¼ hours……………………… We started of Ok but then the chap inside the GPS did not know that floods had closed most of the roads and we kept coming up to Road Closed barricades and having to turn round. Ok so who forgot to clip the lid back over the gas bottles and who had to walk back 400 metres to pick...

Apr 11, 2015 - Days 76 - 77 UPDATE NOTES

Hi All, So greetings now from Victoria where it’s getting cooler in the mornings but quite sufferable especially as we cheat and set the air conditioner to go on early so it’s a bit warmer when we get up. First port of call was Wodonga on the border to say G’day to a couple friends that we met on the cruise to the cape in 2010 and who are friends of Barry and Gai . We had a nice afternoon tea with them and a lot of laughs. From there we went to Bright at the base of the Victorian Alps. Being autumn the leaves were starting to turn and what...

Nov 25, 2008 - Glenrowan to Shepparton

SUCH IS LIFE ANG: Glenrowan is the town where The Kelly Gang had their final stand. Three of the four were killed here, with Ned being captured, tried and hung. We read up on the history, walked around the significant sites, and also went to a robotic museum type show - which was averagish. What is good is that between the exhibit in Eden and this trip we now have a better idea of what a Bushranger was, and the story of Ned Kelly in particular. Josh thinks he was a hero, whilst I think he was a murderer. In their final stand they took a big...

May 9, 2007 - Plans for this year

Plans Finally off - well almost! Visits to specialists needed for both of us. Ophthalmologist found that cataract surgery needed for both Joy(2) and Ted(1). After some discussion, in view of travel bookings made, decide to postpone till back in Melb in Sep. Cardiology/vascular man at the Alfred gave Ted another 6 months of freedom, which should allow travel plans to take place. Joy had arthroscopy on second knee and it cleaned up pretty well. Ted saw Joys orthopaedic surgeon and there may be some way for him to have knee replacement surgery...
