Jan 13, 2019 - Just another day on the farm

Today was drenching, tagging and the 2 new male babies, Fred & George had their private parts rubber banded!!! The kids all tagged along, either just watching or helping with the gates and calming down the babies. Ella was a very good help The very fat pregnant cow just managed to squeeze through the race. It was very, very windy today, and we had a bit of a rough time taking down the taj mahal and packing it all away, but it all ended well in a neat and tidy package.

Jan 12, 2019 - Everything including the kitchen sink!

The new camper came home this morning. Sarah & Ben have been saving up/ paying it off for the last 6 months. So we all had a good gander while they put it up. The kids gave a helping hand too. Ella helped to put knots into the tie ropes with some instructions from Grandad. It's a fabulous camper with tons of room and should see them well into the future. In the afternoon we had a visit from Joseph & Ana & their son, Noel, and Joseph's parents. It was a beautiful day and Noel had a great time on the farm running around with the...

Jan 11, 2019 - Gold ?

We took the kids to Walhalla the old gold mining town, today. We had a train ride - 20 minute ride to the Thomson Station, a 20 minute stop while they shunt the engine around and then the ride back to Walhalla. Going over very rickety bridges had them a bit worried, but we all enjoyed the trip. Then we stopped at the river on the way back to let them try out their new gold pans which they got for Christmas. Sorry to say we didn't come home any richer, but they had some fun and enjoyed splashing around in the river as it was a hot...

Jan 10, 2019 - A fun day

Tuesday saw me with an unexpected 2 and a half hours in the dentist chair having pre crown work done on 2 teeth. Not happy Jan!!!!! $3000 later and my jaw felt like it was never going to close again! Then I have to return next Tuesday for the crowns to be fitted. On a much brighter note today we discovered the Seville Water Park. The kids had an absolutely fabulous time running in and out of the water spouts. It's an old swimming pool that has been adapted and is a great place - it's even free. A nice park surrounds it with lots of...

Jan 5, 2019 - Merry Christmas Part 2

Yesterday the temperature made 42.5, so the day was spent inside until the cool change began around 5pm when it dropped 20deg in an hour and a half making it much more comfortable. We kept the kids occupied by playing games they gotfor Christmas like scrabble and operation. Lots of fun. Sarah organised for us to have another Christmas Dinner and gift opening today. We had a fantastic day and the kids were very excited again. We had these T shirts made for them which read : - 1. I'm the oldest child I make the rules, 2, I'm the middle...

Jan 3, 2019 - Excited Grandchildren

We encountered quite a few specimens of road kill on our trip from Lake Tabourie to Bunyip - wallaby, wombat, a 2 1/2foot goanna, ring tail possum and a magpie. Makes the journey a bit more interesting!!!! We surprised the grandies and it was lovely to see the looks on their faces. We've had a great day with them all and spent most of it outside amongst the chooks and ducks. Tomorrow the temperature is predicted to be 42 deg so I think we'll be spending it inside with the air conditioner on.

Apr 22, 2018 - Celebrations

Yesterday was baby Noah's name giving day. Sarah and Ben & the baby's auntie Erin were godparents. It was a lovely afternoon and we caught up with friends and family. Today is Tony's birthday - the kids helped him to open their gift to him. Sarah made a vanilla slice cake which everyone loved. More custard on Winta's face than in her mouth! !!! But she ate it all. Then, fully replete, it was snooze time.

Apr 20, 2018 - Busy days

The days are flying by. Tuesday morning I spent with the calligraphy group and then we all went for lunch at the Kilsyth club, where I had my favourite chicken parmigiana (not something they have in UK), so it was very enjoyable. Wednesday morning I spent shopping for Tony's birthday present. Thursday was chiropractor, spot more shopping for shoes, jeans and a few bits and pieces, then into Melbourne to the comedy festival. Today we took our youngest grandchild to her swimming class and then she came with us to my hairdressers. By...

Apr 16, 2018 - Bunyip

Excitement was the order of the day when we arrived on Saturday -the grandies didn't know we were coming! They were even more excited when they knew we were sleeping over for the night. We had a good day today getting some banking and finance stuff out of the way. Surprisingly, the bank was very helpful. After school today we spent some time outside. We bought the kids some pop rocks - the photos say it all!
