Wagga Wagga to Benalla One highlight of this leg of the journey was driving through millions of tumbleweeds that were being blown over the road by fairly strong winds. They were everywhere for tens of kilometers and I stopped a couple of times to make sure they weren’t clogging up the radiator – needless to say, the old commodore took it all in it’s stride, spitting them out as if they were a well worn pair of socks. Living the Dream

Dec 25, 2010 - Benalla

16th December. Time to move on again, during the night we had a bit of a storm, lightning, thunder and a hail storm, but it didn’t last long and we woke up to a sunny day. We stopped at Benalla for lunch and called in at the Tourist Info Centre, which also has a Ned Kelly Museum and a Wedding Gown exhibition dated from the 1860’s, Benalla has a wonderful park right on the banks of a river, which has a sculpture (which is still under construction) and is quite special (see the photos) Once again we planned to stay at a 24hr stop, but...

Apr 21, 2008 - Bright to Benalla

Had planned to visit Tyler in Benalla today and come back to Bright for the night. This seemed a little bit silly because Benalla is on our way to Mornington Peninsula anyway. So we decided to catch up with Tyler and Kristen for dinner and stay the night at Benalla. Packed up at Bright and tried to leave the house as we found it!
