Hey it’s stopped raining…. This morning after doing a couple of loads of predeparture washing we headed of to the Golden Nugget for lunch. En route I took a few picks of the Eureka Memorial, the significance of the canon somewhat eludes me. The Eureka memorial is dedicated to the miners and soldiers involved at the Eureka Stockade in December 1854, and was the result of formal reservation of the Eureka Stockade Reserve. Welcome Stranger, here we are at Eureka Van Park. This is a reasonable park at least we were given a really good site which seems not to happen when you book ahead. As the budgie flies the Eureka Memorial is but 150 metres away and the site we occupy may or may not have actually been inside the Stockade, the ground was so disturbed it was impossible to actually tell where the Stockade was but hey wouldn’t it be amazing if Peter Lalor was standing here in 1853 an uttered those immortal words; "We swear by the Southern Cross to stand truly...

The real treasure Memories shared that will last a lifetime! Keren: One of the things people have ask on our return is “what did you bring back?” or “ what treasures did you get for yourselves?” I know it sounds really corny, but the real treasure from the trip has been time and deepened relationship with the girls and their development and growth.
