Sep 3, 2014 - Anglesea

We have reached the great ocean road and it is so nice to be by the ocean!!! Wiki camps was helpful in finding a dog friendly caravan park which is right on the river mouth next to the ocean. When we checked in I took panda for a long walk before unpacking. We are camped right next to a board walk and walk trail which goes along the river and across the cliffs next to the beach. All the heath along the cliffs is starting to flower as spring is arriving. But it is still very cold, multiple layers, beanie plus hood, jacket and scarf still...

Oct 22, 2013 - Geelong and on

After lunch and a lovely time with our family, we drove to see Ash's work at Winchelsea. Then had dinner at an Italian restaurant and watched Tarsh play netball. We had a very lovely time together and after that we said goodbye and drove to just west of Anglesea and stayed at a wayside stop. The weather is disgustingly wet and the wind is gusting up to 89 Klms/h.

Dec 20, 2012 - Free Camp Fitzroy River to Anglesea

Day 26 WK 4 Thurs. Dave's Birthday. We left our camp spot (Great spot 400 mtrs off the road and the only one on offer yesterday) real early as we knew we had a long day in store. First town was Peterborough which was bigger than we thought, but still quite quaint. Then on to Princeton and then we stopped at Warrnambool for over an hour while I finished some shopping and posted the parcel to Becky. Hope it makes it before Christmas. Great Southern Road. I was hoping Dave would take a helicopter ride over the 12 Apostles, but he did not wish...

May 3, 2011 - The Great Ocean Road - Road Trip

The Great Ocean Road is spectacular. We set off early this morning and actually drove much of the road in one day. We knew if would be a good day because after having driven for a few minutes on the Ocean Road we saw the most amazing rainbow that went right across the sky – a perfect arc that displayed all of the colours clearly. We stopped to look at it and then discovered a second fainter arc above the first one. What a great start to the day. The first section (from Adelaide end) consists of coastline with enormous rock formations such...

Where's Jolly?

Apr 30, 2008 - Daylesford to Anglesea (via Torquay)

Decided to stick to our original plan and start the Great Ocean Road (GOR) at the start (locals have differing opinions on the start according to where they live!) in Torquay. Left the lovely Daylesford apartment along with the spas and 3 heaters, and headed for Torquay hoping to arrive at lunchtime. That we did and pulled up in a nice park for lunch. Torquay is supposed to be the surfing capital of Australia and do they have some surf shops!! We must have driven past ten or twelve and we would'nt have seen the whole shopping precinct....

Mar 7, 2008 - Roo-Golf in Anglesea

In Anglesea beginnt die beruehmte Great Ocean Road.

Oct 31, 2007 - Koalas

10/30/07 Great Ocean Road - Koalas, Koalas and more Koalas Today, we caught an excellent sunrise at Anglesea. The pictures are included in this update. It was cool this morning with the temperature estimated to be in the mid forties. We are without TV and the local weatherman. We departed today at approximately 9:00 AM, seeing spectacular ocean views with many surfers evident along the way. This area is the Australian Surfing capitol. We made several stops at scenic overlooks and at the last light house built in Australia. Fortunately the...
