Early morning start for a big day of driving. Only did about 350 Kms but it took the best part of 10 hours today. We travelled back through Queenstown and up the range with impressive views of the town before stopping at Nelson Falls for a walk and photo. NExt stop was Derwent Bridge for an early lunch before heading on through down to New Norfolk and into Hobart. Just out of Derwent Bridge is a private tourism venture called 'the wall'. Oct 6, 2005 - Dover (03/08/05)

The drive down from Hobart takes in the pleasant Channel Highway, giving views of North and South Bruny Islands, but when you reach Dover, there is absolutely nothing to stay for. Just like the English version with the white cliffs, there is no reason you'd want to be here unless you had to be. But pressing on to Southport, a place that had been recommended by somebody in Deloraine, brought even less reward except for a downpour of rain.
