28th August, 2018 Leaving Longreach this morning and heading a bit further south. Only a couple of kilometres outside Longreach and the road is back to single lane bitumen. The scenery is still much the same but we both love it. Having said it’s much the same it is also very different every kilometre you travel. The earth is a different colour; the trees have different foliage and the animals you see are in different proportions. You, well we, could never say it is boring that’s for sure. Aug 9, 2013 - Quilpie to Windorah

Left Quilpie around 9am on a very chilly morning. A narrow, dusty road ahead as we made our way to Windorah. Still a lot of wild life, emus, kangaroos and grazing cattle by the side of the road.We saw a lot of magnificent eagles feasting on the animals that had been killed on the edge of the road. Even caught a glimpse of two brolgas just off the road. 15 klms from the town of Windorah we stopped at a free camping site on the banks of Coopers Creek. Apr 1, 2013 - Quilpie to Windorah

Day 5: Monday 1 April 2013 Quilpie to Windorah We were having a nice sleep when some noisy old people starting talking at the top of their voices. That woke us up for the start of a great day 5 of our adventure. We got up to have a leisurely breakfast as we had our awning up. It was good as today we weren’t driving far. The roads to Windorah are narrowed sealed roads which is good as most of the roads have been dirt roads and for once you’re not being bumped around.
