Feb 24, 2010 - Tourists

We have settled into caravan life and enjoying just being general tourists of a week-end. Bruce has put his boat in the noosa river and came home with a couple of feeds of fish. We are going to do a day tour to Frazer Island on the 4x4 bus in the near future, and a cruise up river at sunset which should be nice. Bruce still working I have read 3books and doing a bit of craft. Its so lovely to be retired I think I'm just starting to settle into the routine.

It is finally happening!!!! 2010 has arrived and we have moved all our house hold items down to Ivan and Mels, have cleaned up and also the house will be rented out from Monday. So the first leg of our journey begins. First we will move the van to Tewantin on about the 5 Feb. Bruce doesn't finish work till may and we chose Tewantin as its only 20min from his Depot. So even though we have made the first step we will be around for a few more months, we can't go till the wet season is over anyway "so all's good"

Oct 23, 2009 - Day with Laurie and Steve

Started off my day being energetic by going to the gym and doing a body pump class. As it has been about a year since I have been to a gym I am expecting some sore muscles tomorrow!!! The rest of the day was much more relaxing as Laurie and Steve drove up and spent the day with us. Lovely day :)

Oct 21, 2009 - Tewantin

Well what a busy but lovely couple of weeks we have had. We moved our caravan up to a caravan park in Tewantin (near Noosa) and it is just lovely. Spacious sites, close to the amenities block, lots of grass, great pool, games room with pool table and table tennis AND nice and quiet!!!! Thoroughly recommend this park. I have spent 3 weeks at work - 1 day in the first week, 3 the next then 2 this week and I am still loving it. Feels so good to be there and I come home a much happier person than when I worked at the airport (so Ken likes it...

Jun 9, 2009 - Sydney to the Sunshine Coast

Saturday 30th May. Gary: By 11am we had crossed the Gladesville Bridge and as we changed lane I glimpsed a last view of the harbour bridge & opera house over my right shoulder, the traffic was slow and it was pouring with rain. Sydney weather: warm and dry or warm and wet. Our trip is a camping trip and we are now wondering how many nights to stay under-roof with Lorraine’s mum. Monday 01 June Lorraine: It was difficult to push on from Mum’s after two days & nights of spoiling but even the threat of further rain couldn’t dampen our...

May 18, 2009 - Australia Zoo

The kids were slow in getting out of bed and getting ready and to make matters worse the threat of thunderstorms was looming. We finally left at 8.30am and the GPS again made us travel via Nambour, for what reason we are still trying to fathom!!! We arrived at the Australia Zoo at 9.50am and we headed to the tortoise enclosure and learnt about the Aldabran Land Tortoises. We then walked past the crocodiles and read the snippets that Steve Irwin wrote about them. We walked to the Crocoseum and watched a show that had elephants, reptiles,...

May 17, 2009 - No Fraser Island but Yes Rainbow Beach

Sean woke us to hurry and get dressed and get going....WE ARE OFF TO FRASER ISLAND!!! We had a two hour drive ahead of us and we would have breakfast at Rainbow Beach before we caught the ferry across to the island. We got into the car at 8.30am and before we knew it we had turned into a road that was made of rocks and it was to be at least 30kms of it ....Sean was driving and I was severly car sick...did not throw up!!! When the road the GPS wanted us to follow had a road closed sign so we went the other road, many thoughts went through my...

May 16, 2009 - Doing the tourist things!!!

I woke early and ran to the Gloria Jeans (approx3km) with Liam and Rhiannon scootering along. We enjoyed a coffee, white chocolate and mango smooth. They then scootered and I ran back to cp. We then showered and changed and drove to the Eumundi Markets. The number of cars there was amazing and there was only paid parking. The stalls were similar to all the other markets we have been to and the kids are totally over markets and sad to say there was not even any fresh vegetables and fruit that were enticing. They looked like...

May 15, 2009 - Leaving Brisbane and heading to Noosa Heads

We woke and packed and left Brisbane going on to the wrong M3 and having to turn around and finally get onto the right road to head to Caloundra to have lunch but there was nowhere to park the van so we drove on to Mooloolaba and had lunch there on the grass overlooking the beach. We took photos infront of the Steve Irwin monument and then drove through Maroochydore onto Terwantin cp. The kids all unpacked as quickly as possible, including Miranda. She opens up the chairs, unscrews the chains of the towing between the van and car and puts...
