Monday 27 June Time to leave Airlie Beach after a very enjoyable stay. Enjoyed the best of weather and feel sorry for you all suffering the cold weather. Had a good trip down the highway, had a rest stop on the outskirts of Mackay and then continued on to Sarina. Topped up with fuel and decided to buy a hot chicken from Woolies for our sandwiches at lunch time, and then only have to make veges tonight for dinner at St Lawrence. Mt Surprise Reunion

Jun 19, 2016 - Proserpine to south of St. Lawrence

19/6/2016 Sunday I was woken early this morning with a storm raging around us - lightning, very heavy rain and strong wind. I lay awake, wondering if we'd move on today or stay. The rain stopped for about an hour, and then started up again. Ian woke, we had breakfast, I checked the BOM radar, and saw the rain was widespread. Ian decided we'd move on, so he donned a flimsy, plastic poncho which we were given in Vietnam when there on tour, and proceeded to prepare for departure. It's amazing how dry the poncho kept him. Oct 16, 2012 - St Lawrence

We called in and stayed at St Lawrence on the way home. Yes, I know there is absolutely nothing here but I was trying hard to prolong our trip. We spent some money at the general store and the pub. I have included photos – you will not believe the state of some of the buildings in the town! However, the council has provided a free camp (with water) on the edge of town as a way of generating business in the town. The day we arrived, there were about 20 vans.
