Apr 7, 2016 - The Nearly Nullarbor

April 3-4 Nullarbor means "Tree less" - name change required, coz I saw many tree's, however, it was not as I anticipated the NULLAR-BORING at all. I was perplexed at the lack of trucks on this road and small amount of road kill. The scenery around the cliff edge was awesome as was the Bight.

Apr 3, 2016 - Ming Mills Galore

We came across this little town as we needed fuel and low n behold MINGMILLS - MM (Mere Male) loves them and so it was excitement all around as we took in his childhood love. The town of Penong is in the middle of creating a museum to the old windmills as technology has rendered them somewhat obsolete.

Mar 1, 2016 - Redcliffe/Scarbourough

Redcliffe is my old stomping ground back in the 90's. I lived here for around a decade, My daughter was raised here and LOT'S have changed since then, the place is becoming like the Gold Coast, high rises all over the place and a great percentage of the old classical Queenslander's being knocked down.

Mar 1, 2016 - Eye in the Sky

Greetings Earthlings :) So now the journey begins ..... The flight across to Brisbane was a tad on the bouncy side, however wine, cheese and crackers was a fine distraction. There was hardly any people on this flight and the attendants were well past their use by date - haggard n old - Ok talons back in now ;) *Note to oneself* - Remember to bring a container of Olives and sundried tomatoes for all future travels, being Gluten sensitive is a bugger on long flights, I took crackers but needed other goodies.. I took some interesting ariel...

Mar 15, 2014 - Redcliffe Days

Thursday 13th to Friday 14th March Thursday We are staying in the Scarborough Holiday Village which has drive through sites, and is on the Moreton Bay Penisula. It has no shade over the vans but that doesn't seem to matter. The ablutions are new and modern and spacious shower stalls. We are very close to the cafe (at the front gate) which is open from 7am to 4pm, Gordie and Dave headed off to there this morning while I chatted to another resident in the park. By the time I caught up to them, they were ready to move on for the days...

Mar 12, 2014 - Redcliffe (Brisbane)

Monday 10th A quiet day around we went for a drive into Brisbane City to have a look around. Steph had never seen the area called Southbank, this is basically a beach in the city center. The day was nice and fine so when we were in there it was being very well used. We think this is a great area especially for anyone who works in town and wants to have a swim or just relax. We also decided to go on the Brisbane Eye (big wheel) Steph was not that keen at the start because of the height of it, but she got over that after a while. Found a...

Nov 23, 2010 - Redcliffe

23rd November Redcliffe We woke up and decided on North as a general direction, so set off. We noticed a tourist trail leading towards Stradbrooke island so we took the turn off from the motorway and followed it. We got distracted and took a little respite at a wineary and when we got back onto the same track ot was taking us in the wrong direction. We swapped directions and it took us back in a circle?!! Absolutely nothing to do with the wine. At all. We left the trail of the Dugong symbols and found a tourist information who told us it...

Jul 20, 2008 - Redcliffe, Moreton Island

Anja goes Down Under

May 26, 2008 - dont want to rub it it but... its another sunny day!

Today I went down to Clontarf to get my haircut, interesting for you all to know eh! Then I carried on cycling down to Clontarf Point and along some of the old original bridge to Sandgate. They have actually built a second bridge, but the traffic has outgrown the bridge so their in the process of building a 3rd bridge now with more lanes. The bridge I was on you can now only cycle or walk along, lots of signs telling you to be careful due to its precarious structure. People were fishing along the bridge too, so I went so far along and took...
