Aug 13, 2010 - Mission to Lucinda

August 11th Today we all went on the water taxi to Dunk Island, only 15 minutes. A beautiful, peaceful tropical island, mainly rainforest. We walked through the resort, past the cascading pools and restaurants and dreamt of another potential holiday! Spent the day on the 'Muggy Muggy' beach. Warm, blue water, fine sand covered with shells and coral. August 12th Perfect blue skies. Dad went on an early bike ride and had to stop on the road for the passing male cassowary! Jun 5, 2010 - Day 52

Day 52 We are in Lucinda, Far North Queensland. It was very warm last night and we didn't even need a sheet until early in the morning. Decided to go to see the Wallaman Falls just out Ingham, so left early as it was going to be a hot day - round 26 degrees. Lovely drive there - and Australia's longest straight fall waterfall had water running over it. Very stunning! Heaps of Brahman cattle on the roads, and they are so used to cars they take their time to move out of your road. One was lying down in the middle of one lane, and cars just...

Sep 15, 2008 - Lucinda Beach

LUCINDA JOSH: We went to a place with 100 dozen kangaroos. I tried to pat one :(. One had a baby in its pouch:) I never saw so many knagaroos in my life. (Actually they were Agile Wallabies - it was in Ingham, a little town with a very ethnic base. Interesting to see Queenslnder houses with a Spearwood touch). I also went fishing (in Lucinda). We all caught NO fish. It was the first time we went fishing on this trip. There was one dog who had 8 pups. The pups weren't even 3 weeks old (the fisherman had them there in a washing basket).
