Jun 4, 2016 - Cobbold Gorge

Saturday 4 June After a cloudy Friday, we rose to a bright sunny day with not a cloud to be seen. Hard to believe when we received the weather warnings for home. What a contrast. Apart from our planned visit to Mt Surprise with Marcel and Trudi, our other venture was to visit Cobbold Gorge. Jun 3, 2016 - Cobbold Gorge

Friday 3 June Another relaxed morning - or should I say "another exhausting day in the gorge"? Breakfast concluded, it was time for a game of 5 Crowns. All 6 of us played around our little table in a balmy cool light breeze and at the conclusion of the round, it was time for some nourishment! Such an exhausting pastime! It was then thought we had...

Jun 1, 2016 - Mt Surprise to Cobbold Gorge

Wednesday 1 June Time to pack up again and leave Mt Surprise. Not far to travel today, so a leisurely start and probably set off about 9.30ish with our first stop at Georgetown. Road conditions varied from excellent bitumen to one lane in parts. Only had one vehicle each in different parts who would NOT slow down for two seconds, or move over for either of us. Otherwise, everyone was courteous and made the trip an easy one. Once we left Georgetown, we encountered the rough and corrugated areas, along with the dust, both brown and red!! The...
