It was a really quiet week at work last week. Noone can really understand quite why. We wasn't even getting the consultations through the door which was very strange. It was like a ghost clinic. Thursday and Friday I was put into theatre as they was a little short staffed. I loved it! Its so amazing watching how things are done in a specialist practice compared to general practice. The nurses induce the patient and do all the things like the x-ray pre op, clipping and prep then move into theatre. The intern vet will then drape the patient...

Feb 13, 2009 - Working in the specialists

My first week at the specialist practice was great. It is so different to Earlville and already I'm loving it. I'm having to use my brain all the time which is some much better. This way I won't forget how to do all my drug calculations when I get home. I have been doing a lot of physio on spinal patients which is great as they are the ones that need the time and the effort putting into them. Not just stick them in a kennel and forget about them like it was in Cairns. I hope that I will be able to get into the surgical area in my time there...

Feb 12, 2009 - No work for a week

Sunday 1st - Monday 2nd Feb - I did really do much at all. Just had a nice chill out couple of days. Because it was so hot I didn't want to be out in it. It was about 30 degrees so far to hot to be out in. I stopped in a just watched some films. Tuesday 3rd - I went to the vet surgery I will be working in for the next month. Oh my god its huge! There is 14 consulting rooms, MRI and digital x ray, separate medical and surgical areas, 2 ultrasound rooms. Its certainly going to be a challenge for me, well I hope it will be anyway. The I...
