Tuesday, 23 August - Cape Hillsborough, Qld After breaky on the beach at Hydeaway...we travel down the coast to Airlie Beach. We have been coming to Airlie for 25 years now...and seen the place change from a tiny little down into a backpacker paradise... But one of the good things that never changed is their great pizza... hence nothing better than a supreme FAMILY pizza sitting on the beach... arrrr aint life grand... Jun 16, 2011 - Cape Hillsborough

Thursday, 16 June - Cape Hillsborough - Sunny - 21 degrees Free camping last night by the side of the Calliope River was amazing... Awoke to see the fog encompassing the River... it was soooo quiet and beautiful... Arrrr we now we are on holidays when we see the sugar cane fields...I just loveeee them! A civilised start to the day, 7am - followed by breaky on the road and a short 400k drive to Cape Hillsborough. Arrived late afternoon, Cape H is surrounded by National Park and animal life abounds! We arrived just in time for a pleasant...

Nov 3, 2007 - Cape Hillsborough National Park

Cape Hillsborough is a small national park on the Queensland coast. It is best known for...I'm sure you've guessed...their kangaroos! They greeted us at our camp site and joined us on the beach for the sunrise. They were adorable! Some of them were actually orphaned kangaroos that the park was nursing until they were able to survive on their own, so they were very friendly. We even got to pet them as they were eating...such lovely creatures!
