Day 72 Found the old port on the river (Darling) . Drove down to Cobar and looked at the open cut gold mine it is huge Found a camp site at Baden Park rest area, too wet at the actual rest area but we found a dry area nearby. This is goat country as they are on both sides of the road and I’ve only seen 3 of them as road kill as before it was roo’s . Camped at Baden Park

Jun 13, 2016 - Nyngan to Wilcannia

Up the Centre 13.6.16 Nyngan to Wilcannia 391km Today's road was the longest straight road in NSW, and it is one of the best roads we have travelled on so far. Outback bush all the way, with green vegetation and red soil, was pretty country. A few sheep in the paddocks. Along the roadside, hundreds of wild goats in small groups dotted all along the road. They are quite pretty, different colours and markings. Thankfully they don't seem inclined to run onto the road. (Yes we did steady down when passing, just in case ) In case anyone wonders...

Oct 21, 2015 - Wednesday Oct 21st

Wednesday Oct 21st Bit of a back pedal to yesterday. After our amazing tour of Steamtown we drove into Peterborough and booked into the caravan park. Just got the C/T open and set up and the heavens absolutely opened up. Poured for about 20 minutes, fortunately we were inside keeping dry. Terri cooked a nice chicken curry as the sun broke out and as we were sitting outside in the calm I said “tomorrow morning we’ll be in the morning sun in this spot”……when camping…NEVER ASSUME. This morning is like Albany in July….freezing sleeting...
