Jan 21, 2015 - Tamworth & Wauchope (home again)

The Country Music Festival was on in Tamworth and that was our next stop after Gunnedah. We found a parking spot close to the town and went off to enjoy the festival. There was entertainment everywhere we walked and lots of buskers singing and playing instruments, some people were dancing and it was a great atmosphere. We enjoyed our few hours there before starting on our final stage of our trip home. We chose to go home via Walcha mountain instead of using the coastal highway. The scenery was really good to look at but the land was very...

Starting from Wauchope on 5th July 2014 We packed our new 1989 van ready to hit the wide open roads once more, headed north, calling in at Kempsey to say farewell to my mum, then on we went up the highway to our first camp spot at Coffs Harbour. We visited the Coffs Ex Servicemen's Club, had a good meal and won on Keno which paid for our night out. That was a good start for our trip. We visited...

These small country towns are usually one street of shopping and a couple of houses. We passed a lot of country style houses with a veranda all the way around the house and roofs made from metal. We arrived at Brian & Maureen Day's home in...

We decided to hit the road for home. What a mistake that was, it took us 7½ hours to do what usually takes us just over 4 hours. The traffic jams going out of the city plus on the Pacific Highway were shocking. Thank heavens it wasn’t a hot day otherwise it would have been unbearable. It was so nice to finally arrive safe and sound to our lovely home at Wauchope. We did...
