Tuesday 10 October 2017 Our journey today has taken us through parts of Forbes (past Sam Street) to check out the birth place of one Neville Forbes!! Stopped to look at the mural at Spotlight, amazing. Would never guess what it is made of until you get up close. Next stop was the Parkes Observatory and really enjoyed our time browsing there, with the bonus of a lovely cafe. Continued on the Newell Highway past Peak Hill to Dubbo. Oct 15, 2015 - Coonabarabran – Tooraweenah – 71.7km

Exec Summary Much concern in the group about the big climbs today Mel and Jack took the car to miss the climbs Blackburn Hill was a killer. Greater than 10% Siding Springs Observatory climb was longer with a small 20% section but I found easier. Some others disagreed! Overall 700+m climbing in 17km Siding Springs observatory tour was really interesting Lunch at Emu farm (I had emu sausages!) Very quick 20km to Tooweenah as I drafted Geoff Stayed in cabins but the group was split across 2 sites Dinner in Tooraweenah pub Pretty tough day...

Jul 28, 2015 - Goondiwindi to Tooraweenah

Tuesday 28 July 2015 The night did not disappoint us, it was very cold, but we were all snuggled up warm and comfy. Easy morning and left Goondiwindi about 9am. Haven't driven the Newell Highway for many years, and the number of transport trucks did not disappoint us. Quite a good road, and easy driving. Our first stop was the Golden Arches at Moree. Nice and warm inside and nice coffee. Back on the road and headed for Narrabri. Having spent some time there this time last year, we were familiar with our surroundings and headed for the park...
