Aug 3, 2008 - August 3 2008

August 3 2008 Today after lunch we went ice skating with Khiara and my Aunt. We have ice skated before so it wasn't to hard but we still had to start at the side rails. But then we got it together and it was really fun. We also played ice hockey with the older kids. I had a big stack with Aunt but we were fine. When ice hockey finished we done several laps then the siren went for the end of the session. It was alot warmer outside but we didn't feel the cold inside because we were skating. Mum and Dad were glad to be warm though because they...

Jul 24, 2008 - July 24 2008

July 24 2008 Yesterday we slept at our Aunt's house with Khiara and Angus because our Nan has to go to work at 4:00am. I woke up but nobody else was awake so I got dressed and was reading when my sister came out so we both read. My Aunt came out at 7:45am and when Khiara was up we had nutrigrain for breakfast. Then Angus woke up, had his brekky, Khiara got changed and we dropped her off at school. When we got back the rainbow lorikeets were on the balcony railings so we got some bread and hand fed them. I held up my arm and I had the bread...

We then had noodles for lunch but Angus had leftover sausages, peas and mash potato. After lunch we went to pick Khiara up from school and we met her teacher, Mrs Davies. I then...

Mar 4, 2008 - Hello Terrigal

It's the end of our 2nd full day in Terrigal. and Jenn and I are having trouble recalling the day of the week after losing a day crossing the international dateline. Yesterday we walked to Terrigal proper, which is on the beach. The beach is big and breathtaking. Lots of sand, lots of ocean. Lots of restaurants on the strip, most with patios and a view of the ocean across the street. We noticed four Thai restaurants all in close proximity. We ate at a fish/burger place. Definitely eating out is on the expensive side here (though you don't...

Jan 27, 2007 - Home Again

Home again Very overwhelming. Walk into house SATURDAY around 5pm & as it is so emotional we all just start working on unpacking boxes, setting up beds etc etc. Work till too tired & fall asleep. Freddie wakes through the night terrified not knowing where he is. He falls asleep on top of Jo & wakes if she tries to move him even beside her. No one gets much sleep! SUNDAY we fill with activities & generally avoid the choas at home 9am - attend Bridgette Chan's christening @ Berowra Catholic Church. Breifly see school/mother's group...

Brown's Oz Trek

Jan 17, 2007 - Change of plans...

Well guys, change of plans...as you may have guessed from the length of time since my last update. I was supposed to head from India to Nepal on New Years but there was a change of itinerary and the trekking I wanted to do there I wasn't able to do and mostly I would be travelling between cities with not enough time to actually do what I wanted to do in that week. And after spending a couple of weeks in Thailand just 12 months ago I figured I couldn't really be bothered. I've been on the go for awhile now, I'm tired of living out of a...

Jade's Big Trip 2006

Jan 13, 2007 - Market day

Woke up this morning to a hot buffet breakfast. Sat outside in the garden munching on our bacon sarnies, before catching a ferry to Circular Quay. Our aim today was to check out the Paddington Market, off Oxford Street - home to lots of boutiques and cafes - which we later found out was about four miles long, and the bus dropped us off at the wrong end of the market! There was a lot to see at the market, including vintage clothing, arts and crafts, lots of food stalls complete with tasty eats, jewellery stalls (where Brenda bought yet...

Jan 7, 2007 - Dangar Island

I took the 9.45am train from Sydney to the Hawkesbury River on Sunday morning. Tim insisted on taking the train with me as I had been feeling unwell the previous evening and been unable to eat as I had felt sick from a migraine. The train journey is about one hour. I tried to contact Michele by phone to tell her I was on my way but her mobile was going straight to voicemail and the home phone was permanently engaged. As the train snaked down the hill into the river valley and we caught glimpses of the river and yachts stacked up along the...

Van rolling to Oz

Nov 17, 2006 - Sydney

Travel Tip #1. If you lose your passport within half an hour of arriving in a large city 12,000 miles away from home, don't panic. Simply tell the bloke behind the bar - and ask for directions to the nearest police station. Walk to the station (it's better if it's late at night and you've never been to this place before and you've just stepped off a 23 hour flight) report the loss and return back to your hotel room. Reflect on the fact that you've been a twat (surely not!) and try to convince yourself that you really wanted to make a 10...

Oct 31, 2006 - Last day in Singapore

Today was a busy day. After our usual visit to the cafe downstairs for steam buns for breakfast, we went for a trip to Arab Street, which is a short walk down the road. There are many fabric and sequin and some clothes shops. We bought Belinda the fabric to make next years' physsie costume. Also there was a belly dancing shop and lots of expensive rug shops. We stopped and had lunch which was kebabs and they were delicious. After lunch I mailed back all of the childrens schoolwork, which was three weeks worth and weighed nearly 4 kg! That...
