Yesterday we travelled from Tuncurry to Soldiers point without incident. We were running early so stopped for morning tea enabling a timely arrival around 1100. Interesting van park with everything to keep one amused including a heated indoor pool, not that we will use it. Last night we had dinner with the Lindwalls at new Thai place at Salamander. Thai Charm, novel menu and good food. Special Agent Lindwall (ret'd) and I had lots to catch up on with many reminiscences concerning Axolotls and Correopsis. We both received DCM's for our...

Oct 28, 2018 - Port Stephens

Our final day by the Coast today. Had a pleasant drive around to Anna Bay via Fingal Bay. Fingal as most of you will know was the hero of a Scottish poem and though he lived in a cave it did not inspire the famous Overture This was a different Fingal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxQcgRAhzlA We heard on the radio this morning that the toilets at Nelson Bay police station have been stolen. Soldiers Point, Port Stephens – 23 May to 28 May (5 nights) The 158km drive from Umina to Soldiers Point, Port Stephens was 90% on freeways/highways and because it was Saturday, was almost semi-trailer free, so little or no “sucking in”. We have made a mental note to travel on Saturday’s (where possible) in the future.
