Mar 17, 2012 - Queanbeyan and the Sedours

From Batemans Bay we decided after our night in the bush with all the scary stuff, what wimps, that we would head directly up to Goulburn to see another couple of vineyards and chill out. The campsite we headed for when we got there seemed a bit tatty but to be honest it was great and tidy which is all you want really. Plus there was hardly anybody about so we managed to have The kitchen to ourselves most nights. We went to a nice little vineyard outside the town called Kingsdale and bought a couple of bottles and that's all we saw as we...

Sep 8, 2011 - Yarrawonga to Canberra

Had a great time in Yarrawonga celebrating our daughter & grandson's birthdays. Left Yarra on Thursday & arrived in Canberra around 3pm. Staying at the Riverside Caravan Park in Queanbeyan. The cost $28 2A per night powered, no discounts. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good. It is not a flash caravan park but clean, tidy and quiet during our stay and would stay again. You wouldn't want a very big van as the sites are on the small side. Jim & I both lived & worked in Canberra for around 20 years so we have seen...

It was quite small so we got to stand right at the front and before we had leftthe harbour we had already seen Australian fur seals. The water was clear and we saw so many beautifuly elegant yellyfish and a hammerhead shark right at the front of the boat, we were lucky as we only got a...

Aug 26, 2008 - August 26 2008

August 26 2008 When we woke up there was ice on the windscreen of our car. We had brekky then went to old parliament house. I thought it was really interesting. Then we went to new parliament house and we saw the famous painting of the first parliament by Tom Roberts. We had to rush through everything because The National Zoo and Aquarium closes at 5pm and it was already 11.40am. On the way out there was a big crowd so we went to see what was going on and it turns out that the Governor General had arrived but we were still in a rush so we...
