Mar 23, 2016 - Moree to Parkes

Wednesday March 23 Moree to Parkes via Narrabri/Coonababran/Warrumbungles/Gilgandra/Narromine Beautiful morning after a “truck filled” night – why do they have to keep their air cons running; just because they can? Country is very dry, though there are some weird green patches obviously the result of random rain. Loved the old pub in Coonabarabran (well, any pub really!) and the old Holdens gathering for a “meet” – not sure who was older, the cars or the drivers! Dec 10, 2009 - Continuing through Central New South Wales

Our journey continues, south-ish, via places such as Parkes, Forbes, Orange, Bathurst. There was a house about 2Km away and that was our...

Mar 31, 2008 - Swan Hill to Parkes

I am typing away while the kids do the dishes!! It is quite painful listening to the arguments, but who knows. They might learn something! Travelled from Swan Hill to Parkes today. Remember the Aussie movie 'The Dish'? Well the dish is in Parkes. Going to see it tomorrow on our way out of town. The drive became more interesting as we drew closer to Parkes and saw hills and a bit of greenery. Some of the towns we went through were lovely despite seeming to be in the middle of nowhere. We went through the 'Lachlan Valley' and took a photo of...
