We didn't want Christopher to miss out on the fairy penguins, so we all drove south along the coast to the town of Narooma to take a boat tour to Montague Island. It is a national park and very protected so that only a limited number of people, on a guided tour, can come visit. What a treat! As we boarded the boat, huge sting rays came rising out of the water, eating the fishy left-overs from some other boats. Jan 18, 2010 - We're on our way!!! Woo Hoo!

We have been attempting to leave familiar territory as quickly as possible, but it turns out that even NSW can be a very lovely place. We have only covered about 450 kms in the last 2 days, but we keep telling our selves that travelling freedom means doing what we choose to do and going where we want to go. We stopped at Kangaroo Valley on our first night. Not very far from home, but we had left 3 hours late from home after a tearful family goodbye. Jan 29, 2009 - Narooma

After a very hot drive we were happy to hit the beach, only to find lots of kids crying. The jelly fish were on the prowl so we gladly hit the small kids pool for a cool dip. Not much to do here except get ready and hit the only bar, which we were told served nice food. After a ten minute walk up a steap hill we enjoyed a quiet few beers and some nice food.
