Apr 29, 2017 - April 29th, 2017 - Valla Beach

29/4/2017 Valla Beach What a beautiful day - sunny, blue sky and not a cloud to be seen. I went for a walk before breakfast and took some photos of this lovely place. There were lots of people walking their dogs and just enjoying the sunshine. The men went into Coffs Harbour to get a part for Ian Fair to do a repair on a leaking pipe in his hot water system. Anne & I did 'home duties', then chatted over a coffee. Men home, all jobs done, lunch and a short rest, then we played cards and fed the Lorikeets before walking down to the beach....

Apr 28, 2017 - April 28th, 2017. Valla Beach

I found a little visitor when I got out of bed this morning - on the bathroom floor, a little creature which looked like a centipede, but didn't have 100 legs. I'm just pleased I didn't stand on it during the night! As Sandie commented, lucky it wasn't in bed with us! A very cool day today and we had a lazy morning, chatting with Anne & Ian and feeding the Lorikeets who knew where to come for a snack, bringing the honeyeaters, a magpie and doves. We went into Coffs Harbour after lunch, driving on the new road which was under construction...

Apr 27, 2017 - April 27th, 2017. Valla Beach

A slow start this morning; laundry duties for the ladies, tinkering for the men, coffee then a walk along the beach for Anne and myself. We went to the local pub for our $7 lunch, which was quite a big meal and very nice. Needless to say, soup for dinner tonight. This afternoon, we played cards in our annex until the cold sent us indoors. There is quite a lot of bird life in the park - plovers with tiny babies, some with bigger babies, kookaburras, honeyeaters, galahs, beautiful friendly, Scaly-breasted Lorikeets, and of course the...

Apr 26, 2017 - April 26th, 2017. Valla Beach near Nambucca Heads

26/7/2017 Valla Beach It rained on and off during the night, but thankfully the wind has stopped. Overcast with intermittent rain and blue sky all day. Mild to cool to cold - out with the jeans and winter tops. We had a lazy day, chatting about our Canada trip in the morning, and after lunch went into Nambucca Heads to do some grocery shopping. We took a round trip back, passing the Valla Hall and the Bowraville Race Course, driving up and down on dirt road through beautiful countryside, passing tall timbers and rain forests, and lovely...

Apr 25, 2017 - April 25th, 2017 Casino - Valla Beach

25/4/17 ANZAC DAY. Lismore - Valla Beach north of Nambucca Heads. Night cool and a little noisy, but good. We left at 9.30am and travelled through lovely green countryside to Grafton, where we stopped for a cuppa and fuel top-up before heading onwards to Valla Beach past Coffs Harbour. There's not a lot of traffic on the roads, which made travelling easy. We arrived just after 1pm, chose 2 very big sites, both Ians unhitched and hooked up power and water, then we had lunch. It's very windy, and Ian's going to put up 2 sides of our annex....
