Nov 2, 2013 - Still at Mylestom

1/11/13 I'm just going to Coffs Harbour, I could be some time......The KIA is still not back with us, the replacement part was wrong/damaged (the service people keep changing their minds) and the part now has to come from Korea. So NRMA has given us a hire car to drive home and we leave on Monday after they tow the van to a storage facility in Coffs where it will wait till the Kia is repaired and we can come and get it. They will pay for one of us to come by rail or coach, we have opted for rail and Carol can come along on her pensioner...

Oct 30, 2013 - Looks like we may leave Friday....

Last two days have been just so exciting I have forgotten what we did... Yesterday we had a pleasant walk to the local Cafe for lunch. All had the fish and chips “seaside style” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vhkj25fBKzo and it was exceptionally good. Served “al fresco” with views of the Bellinger River. Carol's deceased Aunt's Solicitor recommended it; I can just see him there reclining on the chair sipping a spring water and eating a Bellinger Burger. Our lunch consumed we headed back at the double as a southerly buster was heading...

Oct 30, 2013 - Coffs Coast

31st October We are enjoying life on the Coffs Coast, spending some extra days here. Trevor is still waiting to get his car back from the repairer. The caravan park is quiet and relaxing, Carol and I are getting plenty of use out of the pool. Having pleasant weather with cool nights, also a couple of days with strong gusty winds. Coffs Harbor is halfway between Sydney and Brisbane and home to about 100,000 people. Think they were all out shopping yesterday a very busy city. The Coffs Coast is notable for its banana, berry and avocado...

Oct 28, 2013 - Marvellous Mylestom

24th October Leaving Tweed Heads this morning. We have enjoyed our stay here & has been great catching up with Chris, Alyssa and Levi and Steve as he begins a new job in Queensland. We are heading to Mylestom where we will be meeting up with Trevor, Carol and Grace as we continue our trek home. The further we travel the heavier the clouds become, finally getting heavy rain around Ballina. We are seeing lots of ongoing major roadworks but have no holdups at this stage. Our stop for the night is a free camp at Halfway Creek Roadhouse,...

Oct 27, 2013 - Another nice day in Paradise

We woke this morning to yet another wonderful day, its getting boring and I'm sure some bad weather will have occasion to join us before our stay is complete. Esther was up early and into her cossies for her early morning synchronised swim with her coach, they are getting very good at it too, after all swimming and talking at the same time is not easy. I took Gracie to the beach and threw a metre long length of drift wood out into the sea and in the next 20 mins she managed to retrieve it several times and destroy it. It was really nice in...

Oct 26, 2013 - We do like to be beside the sea side

We have had a couple of very relaxing days here. I have had to lodge a formal complaint as its so nice here, and we wouldn't want to enjoy ourselves. This is a great place to lay back and relax and I haven't even had to “divert” myself and start painting my little people. For reasons unknown the manager thinks I'm a Chemist, I will have to give her my card and she will see I'm simply an eccentric... Hyacinth was in an Audition today as they are making a remake of an Esther Williams movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbn5XQpmNgo and she...

Oct 24, 2013 - Arrival @ Mylestom

Yes Ok Ok... Flash was Smokey's horse, many thanks to those who took the time from their busy schedules to remind me... So what was the loan Arrangers Horses name? And Zorro? Even Hop-along Cassidy had a clever horse. Sgt. Preston of the RCMP had a wonder dog, “King”... So we rose early and drove to Coffs Harbour. Its quite a scenic drive along the Waterfall Way, but would be better done in a Railton or classic sports car rather than towing a van at around 60kph... Poor Hyacinth had a hard time of it, she used to lay on the seat with her...
