I love it when a plan comes together! We were at the zoo just after they opened and had a fantastic day. If ever you go through Dubbo, do yourself a favour and go to the Western Plains Zoo. T'Ann, the odometer when we left Dubbo was 88996kms. If you go back to the last map placement, I've uploaded some of your best friends. All the photos of them that I took. After the zoo it was off to Dunedoo and further on to Merriwa. Along the Golden Highway? _ _ _ _ _ More like the Hold-On Highway. I reckon that all the South Australian roadmakers...

Jun 14, 2012 - Was she cold last night?

Watching TV in bed. Fluffy sheets, blanket, doona, quilt, another light blanket, jumper, scarf and gloves. I said OK, I'll turn the heater on. 15 minutes later, i'ts, "I'M HOT", you can turn the heater off now. Too bad! I'm going for a shower and I want to be warm when I come back. Fog bound this morning. A real pea souper. No one has started to pack up ready to leave. Just not worth the effort just yet. Although at 8.45am it is showing signs of clearing. Ever so slowly, 'tho. Today we drove from Taree to Merriwa which took us around 5 hours for just under 300km, heaps of traffic with major congestion from Hexham to the Golden Highway turnoff….. Lunched at Denman then on to Werriwa via Sandy Hollow…. The small rural town of Merriwa is located at the western extremity of the upper Hunter district, alongside the Merriwa River, 327 km north-west of Sydney and 62 km west of Scone. Port Douglas / Cairns We had a few days before the scuba diving trip began so we decided to see some of the areas around northern Queensland. Cairns is the main city where activities begin and the airport is located. We spent a few days swimming in the hotel pool, bike riding and enjoying the beautiful weather. Port Douglas is a city located an hour north of Cairns where we spent a few days exploring. Northern Queensland is plagued with the box jellyfish.
