Apr 13, 2009 - The Sydney Easter Show and it rained!!!!!
We woke early and were ready to go at 8am but were only to arrive at the Woodwards at 9am so we read the paper and chatted to our neighbours. When we got to the Woodwards the kids were outside waiting for us and we walked to the main road to catch the bus to Olympic Park. The children were so excited and did not stop chatting the whole way there. When we got there we lined up and as Paul was pushing a stroller we were able to jump the queue!!! Apr 12, 2009 - Happy Easter!!!!
We woke early and were glad to see that the Easter Bunny/Bilby had visited whilst we were sleeping. We dressed and drove to Paul and Nicole's to follow them to their Parish. We were early and so the kids were able to see the school that Sienna and Ethan go to. We went our seperate ways after mass till the Woodwards met us at the cp so that the kids could see our van. Apr 11, 2009 - Hyde Park and shopping for Easter Eggs
We caught the train into the city to stroll through Hyde Park and see the old DJ's. We had morning tea at a cafe in Hyde Park ....it cost us $70 for each of the kids having iced chocolates, Sean an iced coffee, me a latte and three slices, a fruit salad and a croissant.... We then watched a park game of chess then did the tourist thing of snapping photos infront of the fountain!!! Apr 10, 2009 - Good Friday in the Blue Mountains.
The Woodwards met us at the cp and we followed them through some tolls and into a traffic jam that kept at a such a slow pace that Nicole was able to get out of their car and get stuff out of the boot. We arrived at Leura intime for lunch. It is a beautiful town...another we will be moving to live!!! HA! HA! We then went to see the Three Sisters....very pretty but Nicole and I would be better suited to the luxurious place across the road ....maybe next time we could book to stay there for a weeks retreat!!! Apr 9, 2009 - Opera House and Maritime Museum
We decided to try and get into the city before 11am so we left the cp at 8.45am. We got to Circular Quay at 10am and walked to the Opera House we paid $90 for a guided tour. This was well worth it as we not only got to see the Opera House in side areas that only if you were seeing a show but we also got to hear the pipe organ being practiced on and the Australian Ballet Company rehearse, along with audio and visual aids relaying the history of the Opera House from it's initial concept to today with the Utzon Hall, a tribute to Utzon. Apr 8, 2009 - Taronga Zoo and Dinner at the Woodwards
We left the cp at 9am and finally got to Taronga Zoo, after catching the train from North Ryde to Wynaard to Circular Quay then the ferry from Circular Quay to the zoo,at 11am. Our first stop was reptile land....Liam has a fascination with snakes and we listened to the talk on reptiles....Snakes do not have ears nor eyelids so when you see a reptile you need to first check before you ......I will never hopefully get that close to one to see if it has or hasn't. Apr 7, 2009 - Sydney Tower after lunch at Chilli Cha Cha
We woke tired and Rhiannon who is are sleepy girl had a difficult time getting motivated to do diary and so we took our time to catch the train into the city. We were going to catch the red tourist bus and have a tour of the city but we were too late to take advantage of the offer. So we caught the bus into Chinatown and on the way there we chatted to two mature gentleman that informed us of the Thai restaurant that they always eat at and gave us not only directions to it but what dishes to choose. Apr 6, 2009 - Trains, Ferrys and Monorails to Star Wars!!!
We woke early with sad to say a wet bed ....Miranda wet the bed so after breakfast, showering and washing linen we were ready to go at 8.30am. We walked to the North Ryde Train Station. This line to Chatswood had only opened in the last week. The escalator takes you so deep down into the ground almost 100metres. We then caught the train to Chatswood where we had to change trains. We decided to get some provisions for the day in the Chatswood shopping centre and after travelling up and down the six levels we finally caught the train to Town...Jump to full entry
Apr 5, 2009 - The hike that nearly got us!!!
We hung around the cp this morning and chatted to couples from Wanneroo, Busselton and Fremantle!!!! Clare,the wife of thecouple from Busselton is the sister of Ali who is married to Paul Dupuy, a pharmacist who also went to Sacred Heart and the pharmacy we went to in Albany!!! They also know the family we met in Denmark. We most likely will catch up with them in QLD. After lunch we went for a casual bush hike out of the cp. The walk led us to a boat hire shop where we hired a paddle boat and all four kids and Sean had a go for half an...Jump to full entry
Apr 4, 2009 - To Sydney to see the Godparents
We packed and were on our way by 9.15am. We drove through many smaller towns and stopped at Thiroul , which was having it’s 19th annual festival. Today, was there street markets tomorrow they have concerts etc on the beach. What a lovely town. We had to buy Sara’s Godmother some flowers as she was so excited on finally seeing her godparents and godsister and brothers. Miranda keeps asking if she will see hers and Sara keeps shouting at her saying hers are back in Perth and it’s Aunty Nat Bella’s mum!!!! We then went along the ocean road...Jump to full entry
