Dec 5, 2014 - Visitors in Kiama

Our friends Linda and Trevor rang us today and they came down here to meet us from their home near the Hume Highway. It took them about an hour to get here. It was so lovely to see them again as we haven't seen them for a very long time. it's always great to see friends both old and new. We had a great chinwag and talked for a long time, so long in fact that we decided to have lunch in instead of going out. I made us lunch of bacon and egg, bread and salad. Plus jelly and fruit. The weather was not so great today and we packed up for the start of our trip south. David had forgotten to pack his golf clubs, bike helmets and bike pump so we made our way back to Penrith. David dropped me off at the Penrith Plaza where I had my hair cut and met up with Sue. We had a fun time together and eventually made our way home after eating sushi for lunch. Kiama is situated 121km South of Sydney and has a population of about 12,000. It was the site of two strong volcanic flows, called the Gerringong...

Living the Dream

Aug 23, 2010 - A massive drive.

Hello, We succeeded in our plan to drive around Sydney in one day - 530kms! A relatively easy day with a few stops and the Jeep behaved perfectly up the hills. We left Port Macquarie at 7am and arrived here at about 3.30ish. We found a lovely spot at Kendalls Beach, Kiama. Only about 8 caravans here at the moment, but the cabins are nearly full. Yesterday we went and explored Berry, Gerringong, Shoalhaven Heads and Kiama - beautiful countryside here and lots of old buildings. Today we move on down a little further. Having difficulty...
