We had another thunderstorm roll over us late yesterday evening, but woke up to a sparkly sunny morning with the sun reaching out over the water soaked western plains of NSW. The dogs had another quick run in the main paddock before we packed up and got ourselves organised to be back onto the road. We had planned to travel across country a little longer before joining up with the Newell Highway just south of Gilgandra, but missed the turn at Narromine and ended up on the Mitchell Highway into Dubbo. Sep 1, 2014 - Coonamble to Gulargambone

We had heard so much about the Gulargambone caravan park we decided to check it out for elselves. What a place. Clean everything, owners that are absolutely wonderful. Not much going for the town as nothing opens until Wednesday's. If your into history then it's great. Had to drive to Gilgandra to find a chemist. (47ks). Every night the owners run a happy hour where all you bring is your drinks. They cook up wood fired pizza and old fashioned damper plus their own recipes which have various fruits in them. No charge!!! Wednesday and Sundays...

Apr 28, 2013 - Gulargambone via Gilgandra

29th After enjoying some restful days,time to be on the road again. Heading towards Gilgandra where we will have a rest stop to fuel up the car, fridge and bodies before continuing onto our stop for the night. Gilgandra is a small town with a population of 2900 is known as the place of windmills and home of the coo-ee. Arriving at Gulargambone with a population of 500. We have booked into the caravan park.
