Day 41 Saturday 5th April (Ron) at Gerringong The day is cloudy but ok. We set off south to Gerroa (next beach south) to check out the memorial park for Kingsford Smith who in January 1933 took off from the "7 mile beach" at Gerroa to fly to New Zealand. He took off at 3:00am using flares and arrived in New Zealand after 14hours and 10min. He had done it previously but had taken 16hrs. Impressive! Apr 4, 2014 - Kangaroo Valley to Bowral to Gerringong

Moss Vale we just drove through and continued on 10km to Bowral where we had lunch beside the oval adjacent to the Bradman Museum (cricket - for those not sports inclined). Time to head down the mountain to find a caravan park for the night. Not long after we had refuelled in Robertson with cheap diesel (152.9) we started down the mountain. The sign at the top was interesting "TRUCKS MAY HAVE TO REVERSE AT CORNERS". Mar 22, 2010 - Surf Camp

Well i couldn't go to Australia and not have a go at surfing, so i booked on a 4 day surf school. well this was great fun. Ended up in a place called Gerroa (two hours south of Sydney) with a group of about 20 other beginners and we had two 2 hour lessons each day, followed by BBQ's each evening and a couple of beers. Just what i needed after being a tourist for a week. By the end of the week i was aching all over, extremly tired, but able to stand on a surf board and ride some waves (well sometimes anyway).
