Sep 20, 2013 - Southern Highlands, Kiama, Fitzroy Falls, Mt. Kiera

Herb picked us up this morning and we went sightseeing. We started at the Southern Highlands area where we met his friends, Jim and Robin. Jim used to be an Ambulance Officer with John (both retired now). The five of us headed out in two cars to Fitzroy Falls in the Morton National Park. Although we did not see any, they have some unusual animals here including the Wombat and Echidna (an anteater). The views from the trails and the falls were magnificent! From there, we headed to lunch in Kangaroo Valley. Cool little country town!!! After...

Mar 9, 2008 - Kangaroo valley and Fitzroy falls

Dec 18, 2006 - Wollongong

Made a quick stop in Wollongong for a quick surgical procedure to remove a skin cancer that had popped up, literally. It was something that started and kept growing at a rapid rate and so with a little pushing from Anna and the kids I had it checked out in Port Macquarrie. They did a biopsy and to my surprise called me when we were in Sydney to say that it had come back positive and needed to be removed. Obviously this provided a little challenging as we are on the move but after a few phone calls we arranged to have it done in Wollongong....

Written by Sophie Today we woke up at 10:00 and packed for Kangaroo valley. We hung around till 2:00 and then we drove there. It took us only 2hrs. We met our cousins there. Then by then it was supper time and we ate supper then we went to bed. Written by Sarah We drove to Kangaroo Valley. But first we got all ready. We took the long way there. There was a really squiggly road to get down in the valley. We all felt like vomiting. The Lewis's came soon after. We played games with our cousins and we ate dinner which was on the BBQ. Then we...

ARE WE THERE YET?

Jan 3, 2006 - Wollongong

The weather was warm and bright once more for our trip south. For an hour or so we passed through one suburb after another. Eventually we reached the forested area near the coast. We turned off the main highway onto a side road and before long came to Stanwell Park. A high cliff gave us extensive views of the coast stretching south with a wooded escarpment behind it. Near to us was a series of small beach resorts and in the distance the steel-works and other industries of Wollongong. The cliff is the base of a hang-gliding club and a flier...

Nov 23, 2004 - Mittagong

Why Mittagong? you may well ask. I did NOT want to pull a large van around in Sydney if I could avoid it. Maybe later we will go back and look over Sydney as it is today (whats that? a TUNNEL under the harbour?). At this point I realise that map reading is hard when driving through peak hour traffic on a 'bypass' route which feels like the center of town to one accustomed to country ways. I am more sure that it should be a compulsory subject at high school. (Thinks investigate GPS Navigator). So just get out of sydney and STOP. Turned out...
