Sep 17, 2017 - Bermagui

Sunday 17 September 2017 A cold night after the cold windy day, but awoke to a beautiful Sunday morning and clear blue skies. Only light winds, but there is still a chill in the air. Time to investigate the town of Bega. Not too much happening in Bega on a Sunday morning. The men paid a visit to Supercheap after which we stopped for morning tea and then headed to the Cheese Factory. A very interesting place with cheeses to try, an info place, an interesting display of dairy farming in the old days and some local craft for sale. Back on the...

Sep 16, 2017 - Bermagui

Saturday 16 September 2017 Another different weather day!! The prediction was for a front to come through quickly and some brief showers. Awoke to a warm morning and very blue sky. Alas, that did not last long, and by 8.30am it was very cloudy, showery and we were being buffeted by very strong winds!! Stayed put until things settled down and then took off for our day out. Everything turned out ok and the first little of township of Tilba Tilba was very quiet and mostly deserted. Even Pam's Store is closed for renovations. Moved on to...

Sep 15, 2017 - South Durras to Bermagui

Friday 15 September 2017 End of our stay at South Durras, another lovely spot and great park! On the road by 9am and made our first stop at Bodalla, did some cheese tasting, had a coffee and browsed through a couple of shops. Could look through the window where they make cheese, but as they were just getting started for the day, there was not a lot to see. Joined the Tourist Route just south of Bodalla and were able to enjoy having a look around Dalmeny and Kianga and many little bay areas before stoping for lunch beside the river at...

Sep 23, 2015 - Bermagui Beachside

Well some times it takes time. Finally figured out the direction of travel line to the journal map. IF, you select 'other options' while in the map manager page you can select that you've crossed the international dateline since the last entry (for us between Hawaii & Sydney) Selecting that will allow the direction of travel line on the map to cross the dateline (versus bouncing back east). Now I can sleep at night. A day after our return to Sydney from Alice, Thel & John returned from Darwin and we picked them up at the airport. We spent a...

Nov 4, 2014 - Stunning Bermagui

Hyacinth has decided that we need to get fit to endure the rigours of Vietnam and China next year so to progress this to being both as fit as Olympic athletes morning and evening route marches are now the order of the day. I should download the “lets speak Chinese” app for my phone and practise while being marched... My knee does not seem to object as much as I thought... After the flurry of activity we went to Bermagui for lunch, they used to do fantastic Fush und Chups at the little Cafe near the wharf but today it was very ordinary. The...
