KAPOORS ON THE ROAD
When Anil was given a choice of beach resorts in Mandvi, he picked the Serena Beach Resort. I was busy on a big project with my photos and I trusted him to find a great place for us to stay. It turned out to be much better than I had imagined, because I didn’t think that Mandvi was much of a tourist destination. I think that the resorts have sprung up along the coast here because Indians are always looking for an exotic setting for destination weddings, much like the rest of the world.
At first Flamingo Travels booked us in for just two nights, thinking that we wanted a week-long trip, but once Anil realized that much of the final day would be the long drive from Mandvi back to Ahmedabad, he asked them to add another night. It was a great plan, because we were able to unwind and let all the experiences we’d had during the previous week, sink in.
As it turned out, I developed a migraine on our second day at the resort, probably from something I’d eaten, and I would have hated to have to be driving across Gujarat on that day, instead of having a comfortable room, with dark curtains draw, recover in. Fortunately, I had made the most of our first day at the resort and had walked throughout the extensive grounds and taken lots of photos.
