Monteagudo Near Murcia

Passing Benidorm

Looking Down At Javea From Our Parking Spot

There We Are!

Down In Javea. We’re Up There Somewhere.

Day 28 - Sat 8th Feb

I found us a WOW spot today. We moved on from Murcia past Alicante & Benidorm to a little parking spot on top of a very promontory with thousand foot drops on either side. Viv wouldn’t even open her eyes at first she was so scared but I persuaded her that it was safe & she eventually relaxed.

We had quit our crowded car park at Murcia after filling up our fresh water tank & carried on down from the mountains towards the coast. We did stop to top up the diesel at one garage at €1.12/ltr but as I started to pump I spotted the sign on the garage on the other side of the road offering diesel at €1.06/ltr. So I stopped immediately & drove over to the other garage to finish filling.

It’s certainly getting warmer again as we head down out of the mountains & not wanting to face all the holiday development spots at Alicante & Benidorm we continued on the motorway to the North of this part of the coast. Mind you we had our usual bit of fun with our SatNag finding our way through the narrow streets of Javea & up to the top of the cliffs overlooking the town, the Cabo San Antonio.

It is a really beautiful spot looking down one side to Javea & to the East on the other side & close to the lighthouse. In the afternoon I failed to persuade Viv to take the narrow winding trail that wound its way round & down into the town. A great walk, going down that is, it was a bit harder coming back. A nice little town with a modern concrete church unlike all the historic churches we’ve seen before on our trip.

Just hope we can find some more places to stop as good as this one on our way home.
