hidden treasures

Last weekend we had storm Ciera - very strong winds caused trees to fall, this tree fell on a couple of boats. It didn't do much damage but enoughn to make everyone worry about the rest of the trees. The CRT cut up the trees and then the fight over the firewood began - those with wood burning fires all vying for it.

The daffodils are starting to flower now, so it's going to look very pretty soon.

Here's another of the 7 Wiltshire White horses- this one looks a bit pale, needs re chalking.

The CRT are doing works on the pumping station just above Lock 50, which is just along the canal from us and the first lock we will have to go through once we are ready to descend. So they have blocked off the canal to stop the water flowing into the lock. They are also fixing any leaks on the lock wall and clearing out any debris.

The things they find at the bottom of the canal are sometimes beyond belief - a motor bike of all things!!!

We are now awaiting Storm Dennis this coming weekend - it will affect the north of the country more than the south, but it sounds like we may get some more wind and rain.
