Winter 2019-2020 travel blog

We're more than halfway through our month here in Bradenton. Time is flying by as usual. The weather has unusually warm even for Florida. Last week set new records with high temperatures in the upper 80's. We're making up for it this week with night time lows in the upper 30's. It has been windier than I recall Floria being. Not quite as bad as the winds in Texas and not every day, but it has seemed to be a lot of wind.

We have toured around Sarasota and Bradenton Beach. We traveled up to Tampa for the big RV show and spent the day there. As usual, tons of rv's and gadgets and way more than a ton of people there. It almost seemed like their annual attendance of 60,000 was all there the same day that we were. We still haven't gotten to the Ringling Estate/Museum or the manatee viewing area in Apollo Beach. There's also a classic car museum we saw in Sarasota that might be worth a look.

We had the seals in our leveling jacks let go an spilled some oil on our parking spot. Luckily we're on a concrete pad so we managed to soak most of it up with cat litter. We found someone to come in, remove the jacks and rebuild them. Hopefully they will be back to reinstall them today.

There's a very nice campground under construction not too far from here. We learned about it at the show and decided to go over and look around. It looks very nice with good facilities and a decent amount of room between rv's. Although the monthly charge includes electric and high speed wired internet, $2000 for a winter month is a bit rich for our blood.

That's about it for now. To be continued......
