Schoodic Point, Acadia National Park

Flowers growing in rock - Schoodic Point

Schoodic Point, Acadia National Park

Bar Harbor, Maine

Sept. 1, 2019 - Crossed the border into Maine, by 9:00. No one ahead of us when we got to the border, so thought we'd be done in no time. Unfortunately got tagged for a random agricultural inspection. No issues but we wound up spending 1/2 hour at the border, while they took their time and check out the rv. Even made us open the slides. I think they were having a slow day!!! Stopped at Houlton, Maine at the renowned Marden's store!!! Was dissappointed, had heard so much about it and found it was really only a giant liquidation store. They did have quite a bit of fabric, but nothing really tempted me. Did pick up some groceries. Fueled up and carried on towards Bangor. Drove through Bangor and headed toward Bar Harbor. Staying at Timberline Acres in Trenton. Stopped at Walmart to pick up some groceries.

Sept. 2, 2019 - Cool and cloudy this morning. Watched the news and were lazy this morning. Drove down through Acadia National Park and on to Bar Harbor. Very scenic an Bar Harbor is an interesting touristy town. It was pretty busy in town, as their was a huge cruise ship anchored in the harbor. Had lunch at a little sandwich shop. I had another lobster roll and it was delicious!! Wandered around town and along the boardwalk. It had been cloudy all day and it started to spit, but never really did rain. Had some ice cream and took the scenic route back through the park to get back to the RV. Had corn on the cob for supper.

Sept. 3, 2019 - Cool and sunny this morning. Drove over to the east side of Acadia National Park. On the way we stopped in Ellsworth and activated our Verizon MiFi, so hopefully we will have better internet. The rv parks all say they have wifi, but when you ask them if it actually works, they often say "not well". Stopped and had lunch in the little town of Winter Harbor. Town looked quiet, but the restaurant was pretty busy. That might have something to do with the fact that it was one of the few restaurants around and it was on the road to park and the food was really good! We drove to the total south part of the park - Schoodic Point. It was just gorgeous there!!! A lot like Peggy's Cove but the rocks were beige instead of grey. Had a nice visit with 4 sisters who were visiting from all over to remember their 5th sister, that had recently passed. The ride along the coast today was just gorgeous!!! Maine is very beautiful!!
