Ottawa River Barge Crossing

PEI 12 Mile Bridge

Flooding in the Streets of Shediac BC

After four days of hard driving we have finally arrived in Prince Edward Island. (PEI)

Driving through the provinces of Toronto, Quebec, and New Brunsick was no picnic. The roads were bad as we expected, the scenery was only moderately interesting, and the weather wasn't great. Lots of rain. We didn't have high expectations for this leg of the trip so we really weren't disappointed.

We traveled through the cities of Sault Ste Marie, Ottowa, Montreal and Quebec City.

Even though our interstate system in the states is not in a great state of repair, we are far ahead of Canada. When you get to a city, the interstates basically stop and you are stuck in city traffic.

Quebec is a French speaking province. It appears that most of the locals speak English also but clearly they prefer French. I have a theory that Canada wants to keep the locals speaking French in the hopes that France will eventually take the province back. Just a theory!!!!!!!

Having arrived in PEI we will begin our journey around the island in the morning. Hopefully on our next post, we will have some interesting pictures.
