Today we chose to use as a rest day. We have been traveling nonstop now for 13 days and need to take a breather. Besides, Jean was a little sick last night but felt better in the morning. We slept in late and went to breakfast at 9:00. The buffet was excellent with both an omelette station and a noodle station. The buffet was so extensive that they had a map of the buffet on an easel. I had an egg Benedict, hash browns, sausage, and stir-fried chicken, plus pancakes.

We relaxed in the room until it was time to go for our 11:00 am massage. We were suppose to have an hour, but I extended mine to 2 hours. My masseuse worked on my back for one hour, before going forward and completing the massage. It was well worth it. When we went for a walk along the Nanjing Road I was able to walk without any pain in my foot and my back pain had vanished.

We went for a walk along Nanjing Road pedestrian mall which begins in the next block down the street from the Radisson Blu Hotel, which is also located on Nanjing Road. It was a beautiful day, sunny and not too hot with a gentle breeze. We strolled along looking at the various statues, stores, eateries, and other pedestrians. We went down a couple of side streets and beyond the pedestrian mall.

We took the Train (Tram Car) back to our end of the pedestrian mall. It was only 5 CNY, which is only about 73 cents US. We walked across the street to the People's Park, which had a bunch of sculptures from the People's revolution.

When we returned to the hotel, we stopped in the downstairs bar. Jean needed a Coke and I had a ginger ale. She read the local English language newspaper while we sat there. Then it was back to the room to shower and relax.

Our dinner reservation tonight was at 6:00 on the 45th floor at the Epicure restaurant. This floor did rotate as we enjoyed our dinner. I had the advertised "Lobster & Steak" special. This was an American half lobster and Australian grain-fed beef fillet steak, slice of corn on the cob, roasted tomato, with double-fried potatoes and a side salad. all this was all for 288 CNY or $42 US. A delicious, tasty meal followed by a blueberry cheesecake all while enjoying the view of Shanghai. Evening set as we ate and saw the lights of the city. It takes about 2 hours for the complete rotation.

We returned to the room where we prepared for our departure from Shanghai and China. I will finally be able to access Google and Facebook again. The government of China restricts access to not only those two, but Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. I could not do any searching, nor could I download a new search engine since my phone goes through the Google Play Store.
