One Day @ a Time travel blog

Coconino Nat'l Forest.

Oh my goodness!!! Four + months in Tucson and 3 months in Fort Verde AZ. Both, beautiful places and great people, but it is time to head north to cooler climes. We left Fort Verde today at 4:30 pm at 109 degrees. Traveled north toward Flagstaff, climbing from 3,000 feet to over 7,000 feet and the temp dropped to 87 degrees in 30 miles. Even the motor home was happy!!

After the previous 7.5 months in AZ, we are now back on the road again zooming around until end of August when we will be at Cyndy’s house till after Thanksgiving.

Stopped this evening at a BLM boon-docking location in the Coconino NF area north of Flagstaff. Got soooo lucky to find this great overnight site about 6:30 that we don’t even have to disconnect the Jeep. I swear that within 4 to 5 minutes after that a half-dozen cars and RVs pulled through looking for sites. PHEW!

Cyndy and family left Leland yesterday and spent this afternoon in Nashville line dancing. Tomorrow they are on to the Arch in St. Louis., then on to Rocky Mountain Nat’l Park.

Tomorrow Emily and I are on to Blanding UT and then take 2 days to get to Colorado to meet up with Cyndy and family on Monday. Plan is to spend a week or so in Rocky Mountain National Park hiking, rock climbing (yea, right! Not me!!!) , and horse-back riding. Will try to post as much as possible depending on WIFI/cell reception. Plans are “open” between leaving Rocky Mountain Nat’l Park and arriving in Leland near the end of August. Probably will be clarified in our next post. Thanks for reading!!!
