|We moved on again today as we had been told that the Canal & River Trust were closing one of the locks we needed to pass through all day tomorrow. So we are a bit weary after 7 locks.
As we were puddling along we came upon this clever boat.
I spotted the Lion on the hillside which belongs to Whipsnade Zoo which has been there since 1933 and had been deteriorating and covered with weeds, so they cleaned it up and added 800 tonnes of chalk from beneath a local residents house (they were having excavation work done under their house and didn't want the chalk) It is 147 m long and indicates the zoo's location.
This lovely red horse chestnut was also spotted at one of the locks.
We finally made it to Leighton Buzzard around 4.30, moored opposite a swan sitting on it's nest, and decided to go to the pub for dinner. So we had steak and ale pies and a pint. (getting the hang of this pint thing!!)
