Topeka Kansas Capitol Building

Since we drove through Indiana and Illinois, we knew we had to make a stop somewhere, so why not Kansas. We're glad we did.

We decided to tour the Capitol building in Topeka. The state remodeled it in 1996. They decided to remodel it to what it looked like when it was first built in 1903. They did a great job. They incorporated all the modern day necessities into the original design.

Even though it's been 20 years since the remodel, everything looks clean and not worn.

After touring the Capitol we drove through the plains to get to Ellis, KS. We saw our first bison outside of Beverly, Kansas.
