Saturday I took the ferry and then a bus to Rabat, Malta where I’ll be until Tuesday. Rabat is near the center of Malta and the city right next to the Mdina Fortress that I already visited with Jane. Rabat is also know for their catacombs which I visited yesterday. Archaeologists have discovered they were early Christian tumbs used up to and during Roman times. The catacombs were also used during WWII as bomb shelters.
The museum of St. Paul Cathedral had a very interesting Archelogy display about the catacombs and life at the time of their use. I thought it was interesting that the medium age was only 25 and that only 6 in a 100 lived to the age of 60!
