We got going, showered and had breakfast. As I was cleaning up, I heard a text message come in; it was from United advising us our flight from OKC to Houston was delayed 2 ½ hours due to fog in Houston – no mention of rebooking us out of Houston, since we would now miss our connecting flight. I got online to check – no re-booking, so I called United and waited for almost 30 minutes for an agent who verified there was no re-booking because there were no flights to book. I advised her we were on a cruise and we needed to get to FLL within the next 26 hours. Still no flights but she reluctantly agreed to book us on American – even though she 'wasn't supposed to do this'.
So, I rescheduled our airport transportation, and we had a most unpleasant trip with American to Fort Lauderdale, via Chicago. But, they got us there and we checked in to Holiday Inn Express for the night, glad to be in the sunshine state.
