Painted silos at Rochester

Beautiful old pub at Rochester

Our view tonight - and it was 7.30pm Daylight Savings time.

20/11/2018. Tuesday. Overcast, warm, late thunder storm

Leitchville to Kyneton

We were on the road at 9.30am after visiting the bakery - we enjoyed our treats so much yesterday that we went back for more. Diet starts tomorrow!!!!

We saw some painted silos as we entered Rochester, so parked and wandered back for photos. Lovely paintings and people were continually driving into the car park to look and take photos. We continued on to Elmore where we were going to stay at a free camp we’ve used over the years, but it was only lunchtime, so decided to eat and then carry on to Kyneton.

The countryside was at its best with gentle, rolling hills, cattle, sheep, alpacas, grain and other crops and green, green grass. Very pretty. Rain has been forecast for today and as we neared our destination we were hoping to get there and set up before it began. And we did - just! 3 motor homes were already here and by the time we had set up, nearly all the spaces were taken. For once we got it right!! 10 minutes later, the rain bucketed down to the accompaniment of thunder and lightning. It was a doozy of a storm and lasted about an hour. The rain was just easing off when Tony rang and whilst talking, the storm hit Melbourne. There was a lot of water lying around here, but the ducks were out in force and looked very happy. It’s only supposed to be 9 degrees tonight - and last night we slept with only the sheet, and half the time it was tossed.

We’re nearly at our turn-around point!
